left hand drive

Left hand drive means that the driver sits on the left side of the car and drives from there. This means that the steering wheel and other controls are on the left side instead of the right side. This is the opposite of right hand drive which is used in places like the UK. Left hand drive is more common in countries where they drive on the right side of the road like the United States and most of Europe.
