Down syndrome

Down syndrome is a medical condition that affects how people look and act. People who have Down syndrome usually have an extra copy of a chromosome in their cells. This extra chromosome affects the way their bodies and brains develop. People with Down syndrome often have physical features such as a flat face, small head, and short neck. They may also have intellectual and learning disabilities. They can still learn new things, but it might take them longer than someone without Down Syndrome.
