Dowry of Mary

In the case of Mary, who was the mother of Jesus, there was a belief that she was given a special dowry by God himself. This dowry was the ability to have a baby even though she had never been with a man before. So when Mary married Joseph, her special dowry was seen as a really important and precious thing.
