Drug development

Drug development is the process of making new medicines that can help people feel better when they are sick or have a medical condition.

Imagine you have a sore throat and your mom goes to the store to buy you medicine. The medicine helps to make you feel better, right? But how was that medicine made?

First, scientists study the human body and how it works. They also study diseases and what causes them. They try to find molecules, like little building blocks, that can stop a disease from spreading or make it go away.

Next, they test those molecules in labs to see if they work as they are supposed to. They might test them on cells or animals to make sure they are safe and effective.

If the molecules work well and are safe, scientists can then start to create a medicine from them. They figure out how to make the medicine in a lab, and then they test it on humans to make sure it is safe and works well in people.

This part can take a long time because they need to test the medicine on different groups of people to see if it works well and if there are any side effects.

If the medicine passes all the tests and is approved by the government, doctors can then prescribe it to patients who need it.

And that's how medicine is made! Through a lot of research, testing, and hard work, scientists and doctors are able to create medicines that can help people feel better.
