ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Drug labelling

Drug labelling is like putting a label on a toy box. Just like how a toy box has a label telling you what toy is inside, medicine bottles have labels telling you what medicine is inside.

The label on a medicine bottle has important information about the medicine. It tells you the name of the medicine, what it's for, how much you should take, and how often you should take it. It also tells you if there are any special instructions, like taking it with food or not mixing it with certain other medicines.

The label also has important warnings. Sometimes medicines can make you sick if you take too much or if you have an allergy to them. The warning label will tell you what to look out for and what to do if you have a problem.

Drug labels are very important because they help you take your medicine safely. Just like how you need to follow the instructions on a Lego set to build it correctly, you need to follow the instructions on the medicine label to take it correctly. If you're ever confused about how to take your medicine or if you have questions, you should ask an adult or a doctor to help you.
