ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

DynaRig

Okay kiddo, so you know when you sail on a boat and you see those big sticks with sails on them? Those are called masts and sails. They catch the wind to move the boat.

Well, a dynarig is a different way to set up those masts and sails. Instead of one big mast with one big sail, a dynarig has multiple smaller masts with smaller triangular sails called "battens."

These masts are super special because they can rotate like a helicopter blade, which means the sail can always face the wind no matter which way the boat is going. This is like magic! Because with a traditional sailboat, you have to change the position of the sail by hand, which is really hard work.

Also because the dynarig has smaller sails, they can be easier to handle and control, even if the boat is really big. And because they are more efficient than traditional sails, it can make the boat go faster and use less fuel.

So, that's what a dynarig is, a fancy way to catch the wind with multiple masts and smaller sails that can rotate like a helicopter blade. Cool, huh?
