ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dynamic density

Dynamic density is a big fancy word that we use to talk about how much stuff is in a space but also how that stuff moves around. Think about filling up a balloon with water. The more water you put in, the heavier the balloon gets, right? That's like density. But if you shake the balloon, the water sloshes around and moves all over the place. That's like dynamic density.

So when we talk about dynamic density, we are thinking about how much stuff is in a space, like how much water is in a balloon, but also how that stuff is moving around and changing. It's like thinking about how much of your toys are in your toy box, but also how you take them out to play and put them back in all the time.

Scientists use the idea of dynamic density to study things like how air moves around different objects or how waves move in the ocean. By thinking about both the amount of stuff in a space and how it moves around, we can understand more about how the world works!
