ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

E-discovery

E-discovery (electronic discovery) is a way for lawyers in court cases to find and share helpful information. When something is in court, like a trial or a lawsuit, the lawyers involved have to find and present evidence (information) in order to win the case. This can include emails, pictures, documents, computer files, and things like video and audio recordings. All of these things can be found and shared with e-discovery. E-discovery is like an online search engine -- the lawyers can search in different places and find the information they need.
