EM radiation is a type of energy that's all around us, but we can't see it like we can see light. It's like a magic power that travels through space in waves, kind of like when you throw a rock in a pond and it makes ripples.
This energy can come in lots of different sizes, and we call that the "wavelength". Some types of EM radiation have really long wavelengths, like radio waves that help us listen to music on the radio in the car. Some have shorter wavelengths, like microwaves that help us heat up our food. And some have even shorter wavelengths, like X-rays that can help doctors see inside your body.
But even though they have different sizes, all these types of energy travel at the same speed, which is really fast, like lightning! We call that speed "the speed of light".
So, even though we can't see EM radiation, it's all around us and we use it all the time, like when we talk on the phone or turn on the TV. And it's really powerful, too!
