ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Earth Charter

Okay kiddo, let me explain Earth Charter to you like you're five.

Earth Charter is like a list of rules that grown-ups made to help make the world a better place! Just like how we have rules in our house to keep it clean and playing fair with our friends, Earth Charter has rules to keep our planet healthy and happy.

It has four important principles: respect and care for the community of life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice, and democracy, nonviolence, and peace.

So, this means we should be kind to all living things on our planet like animals and plants, make sure that we don't hurt the environment by polluting or cutting down trees, make sure everyone is treated fairly and has what they need to stay healthy, and solve conflicts without being mean.

Overall, Earth Charter just wants us to have a happy and safe planet to live in, so everyone can be happy, healthy, and have fun together!
