Earth analogs are planets outside our Solar System that are very similar to Earth. Scientists look for planets like ours because they could be a good place to look for life outside of our Solar System. To find Earth analogs, they use telescopes to look at stars that are close by, and use special instruments that measure the amount of light coming from them. If they detect a planet orbiting the star, they can use the instruments to measure the size and temperature of the planet and see if it's a good match for Earth. If it is, then that planet is called an Earth analog.
