Ebonite

Ebonite is a strong and hard material that is made by mixing natural rubber (which is like a stretchy balloon) with sulfur and heating it up. When the mixture cools down, it becomes hard and stiff like plastic. Think of it like making a cake: you mix different ingredients (flour, sugar, eggs, etc.) and bake them in the oven to make a yummy dessert. Ebonite is usually black in color and it was used a lot in the past to make things like fountain pen bodies, bowling balls, and even jewelry.
