ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ecological design

Ecological design is when you plan and build things in a way that helps protect and care for the environment. This means looking at how we build and use things in a way that is less damaging to the planet and that uses more natural and renewable materials instead of fossil fuels and hazardous chemicals. For example, making an eco-friendly car by using recycled materials and parts that don't use up too much energy, or making a house that uses less energy by having giant windows so you don't have to use lamps, or building a park with lots of trees and plants that can help clean the air. These are all ways we can design things in an eco-friendly way.
