Okay kiddo, so you remember when we visited that museum and saw some really cool things that were from Egypt? Well, those things are a big part of what makes people feel proud or happy about their country. That's called nationalism.
In Egypt, nationalism is when people feel really proud of their country, and they want to protect it and make it even better. They show that pride by things like singing their national anthem, waving their country's flag, or sharing stories about people who have done great things for Egypt.
But people in Egypt haven't always felt this way. A long time ago, Egypt was ruled by other countries or empires, and sometimes they weren't treated very well by the people in charge. That made some Egyptians really upset, and they wanted to be their own country with their own leaders. So they worked really hard to become independent and have their own government.
After they became independent, some people in Egypt wanted to make sure that everyone in the country felt like they were part of a big family. They wanted everyone to work together and feel like they were all on the same team. So they started to talk a lot about what makes Egypt special, like its history, culture, and people.
Now, when people in Egypt feel proud of their country, they talk about all of those things and more. They might talk about famous Egyptian leaders, like King Tut or Cleopatra. They might talk about important Egyptian inventions, like papyrus paper or hieroglyphics. And they might talk about the food, music, and traditions that make Egypt unique.
So that's what Egyptian nationalism means, kiddo. It's when people in Egypt feel really proud of their country and want to make it the best it can be.
