ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Eight-circuit model of consciousness

The eight-circuit model of consciousness explains how our brains and minds work. It imagines the brain as being like a city with eight different circuits, or sections. Each of these sections has a different purpose, or job, and they all work together to help us think, understand, and feel.

The first circuit is the biological circuit which helps us move, eat, and stay alive. The second circuit is the emotional circuit which helps us express our feelings and connect with the people around us. The third circuit is the symbolic or mental circuit which helps us think and remember.

The fourth circuit is the social circuit which helps us interact with the world around us and learn cultural and social norms. The fifth circuit is the body-ego circuit which helps us know who we are and how we fit into the world. The sixth circuit is the spiritual circuit which helps us explore our inner selves and our beliefs.

The seventh circuit is the psychic circuit which helps us tune into our intuition, imagination, and creativity. Finally, the eighth circuit is the universal circuit which helps us feel connected with everyone and everything in the universe.

The eight-circuit model of consciousness explains how all these different parts of our brains work together to give us the experiences that make up our lives.
