ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electric field NMR

An electric field is a special invisible force that surrounds charged objects like the positive and negative ends of a battery. When you put an object with magnetic properties, like a proton, in this electric field, it wiggles back and forth like a toy on a spring.

We use a special tool called NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) to detect these wiggles. It's like when you hit a drum and the sound waves from the drum hit your ear, producing sound. The NMR detects these wiggles created by the magnetic properties of the proton in the electric field and creates an image.

So basically, the electric field NMR is a process where we use an electric field to detect magnetic properties of objects, like protons, and create an image of those properties for analysis.
