Electricity liberalization

Electricity is a type of energy that powers many things in our homes, like lights, TV, refrigerator, etc. Usually, electricity is generated by big power plants that are owned and operated by a company.

Electricity liberalization means that the government allows other companies to start generating and selling electricity. Just like how we can choose between different brands of toys or clothes, we can now choose between different companies for our electricity supply.

When only one company controls the electricity market, they can charge high prices because people have no other option. But when there are many companies competing for customers, they have to lower their prices to attract more people. This is why electricity liberalization is good for us - it gives us more choices and cheaper prices.

In some countries, electricity liberalization has already happened and people there can choose between different companies for their electricity supply. In other countries, the process is still happening and it may take some time before we can start choosing our own electricity company.
