ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Elie Wiesel

Elie Wiesel was a very important man who taught people about the bad things that can happen in the world. When he was a young boy, a group of people called the Nazis took him and his family away to a place called a concentration camp. This was a very scary place where the Nazis did very bad things to the people who were there.

Elie survived this terrible experience, and he wanted to make sure that no one ever forgot about what happened during this time. He wrote books, talked to people, and spoke out about how important it is to be kind to others and to never let history repeat itself.

Elie Wiesel also won a very special prize called the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a big award that is given to people who work hard to make the world a better place. He used this award to continue sharing his message of hope and peace.

Even though Elie went through some very hard times in his life, he never gave up. He always remembered to be brave, to be kind, and to stand up for what is right. And because of that, he became a hero to many people all over the world.
