Email spoofing

Email spoofing is when someone pretends to be someone else when they are sending an email. For example, I might write an email with your name on it, but it is actually from me, not from you. The person reading the email might think it was actually from you, when it wasn't. It is called spoofing because it's like pretending to be someone else.
