When we make things like toys or clothes or food, we often use things that come from nature, like wood, cotton, or cows. When we use these things, they sometimes make pollution that is bad for the air and can make our planet get hotter.
We call this pollution "embodied emissions." It means that the pollution is kind of "inside" the thing we made, and it was made when we were making the thing.
So when we talk about embodied emissions, we are talking about how much pollution was made while we were making things. We try to make less embodied emissions by making things in better, cleaner ways, or by using things that don't make as much pollution.
