ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

EnOcean

EnOcean is a technology that turns things on and off without using any wires or batteries! It's like magic!

Here's how it works: Let's say we have a toy car that we want to turn on. Instead of using a battery, we press a button, which sends a signal to the car. The signal is like a message that tells the car to turn on. How does the signal get from the button to the car if there are no wires connecting them?

Well, that's where EnOcean comes in. EnOcean uses something called energy harvesting. That means it can take very tiny amounts of energy from things like the sun, heat, motion, and even vibrations, to power radio signals. So when we press the button on our toy car, the EnOcean system harvests a tiny bit of energy from our finger, and then uses that energy to send a signal to the car.

EnOcean technology is used in all kinds of things, from smart home devices like light switches and thermostats, to industrial sensors and building management systems. It's a really cool way to make things work without worrying about changing batteries or running wires everywhere.
