ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Energy and environment

Energy can be simply thought of as "power". It's the ability to do work, like turn on a light, cool your house with air conditioning, or power your phone or computer. Energy also comes in many forms, such as electricity, heat, or motion.

The environment is everything around us, like plants and animals, the air, land, and water. We need a healthy environment to survive, so it's important to protect it.

The environment and energy are connected because the resources used to produce energy can have a negative impact on our environment - like burning fossil fuels and releasing pollutants into the air. So it's very important to conserve energy and use renewable sources of energy that are better for our environment, such as solar and wind power.
