English Revolution

Okay, so a long long time ago in England, there was a king called King Charles I who was very powerful and ruled the country with his own ideas. He made people follow his rules, even if they didn't want to.

But, some people in England didn't like the way he was doing things. They felt like they didn't have any power or say in what was happening. They were called the Parliament, and they were basically a group of people who represented the people of England.

One day, they got really upset with King Charles I because he wouldn't listen to their ideas and he didn't want to share his power with them. So, they decided to rebel against him and started a war.

This war went on for a really long time, and lots of people were hurt and killed. Eventually, King Charles I was captured and put on trial. The Parliament found him guilty and ordered him to be executed.

After this, England became a Commonwealth, which means that they didn't have a king or queen ruling over them for a while. They had a leader named Oliver Cromwell who was very strict and had his own set of rules.

But, after a while, people got tired of living under such strict rules and wanted a king or queen again. So, they brought back the monarchy and King Charles II became the new king.

This was called the English Revolution because it was a big change in the way that England was ruled. It started a new era of government and power-sharing between the people and the monarchy.
