Entanglement distillation

Entanglement distillation is a bit like making a concentrated juice out of a lot of weak juice. Basically, it's a way of taking a bunch of weakly entangled objects (like particles) and making a few very strongly entangled ones out of them. To do this, scientists measure the particles and then use special algorithms to pick the ones which are more strongly entangled. These are then used to create new, more powerful entanglement. Entanglement is basically a special type of connection where two things can be connected without any physical contact - entanglement distillation is a way of making lots of these connections very strong.
