ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Entitlement theory

Entitlement theory is about feeling like you deserve something and expecting to have it. It means that if you do something good, you feel that you deserve to be rewarded for it. For example, if you got an A in math, you might feel like you deserve to go out for ice cream afterwards. It's also about feeling like you have the right to do something or have something just because of who you are, even if you didn't work for it. For example, if your parents buy you a toy, it's because you are their kid and they think that you have the right to have the toy.
