ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Right to property

Okay so imagine you have a toy that you really love and it's yours. You can play with it whenever you want and nobody can just take it away from you without your permission. That is like your right to property.

As grown-ups, we have things that we love and want to keep, like our homes or cars. The right to property means that we have the right to own things and nobody can take them away without our permission.

The government also has to make sure that our right to property is protected. This means that they can't just take our things away without a good reason, and if they do, they have to pay us a fair price for them.

So, just like you with your toy, we have rights to our things and nobody can take them away without our permission.
