ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Environmental flow

Okay kiddo, let me explain what environmental flow is in a really simple way that you can understand.

You know how we need water to drink, take a bath, and do many other things, right? Well, plants and animals also need water to grow, reproduce, and survive.

Environmental flow is the amount of water in a river or stream that is needed to make sure that plants and animals are healthy and happy. When we use too much water from the river or dam it up, it can be really hard for them to survive.

So, governments and experts work together to make sure that enough water is left in the river or stream to keep everything balanced. They make plans for how much water should be kept and when it should be released. This way, the environment can thrive and we have enough water for ourselves too.
