Environmental policy of the United States

Environmental policy is a set of laws and regulations made by the United States government to keep our air and water clean, protect plants and animals, and prevent pollution. It also helps to ensure that all people are protected from harm caused by changes to the environment and climate. The laws require people, businesses and organizations to follow certain rules when using natural resources or producing waste and pollution. Examples of rules include limits on the amount of air pollution that industries can emit and rules that require people to properly dispose of their garbage. Sometimes the government provides incentives to encourage people and businesses to act in an environmentally-friendly way, like offering tax credits for installing solar panels or providing funding for parks and wildlife conservation.
