ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Epochalism

Epochalism is a way of understanding history. It means that we look at periods of time like different chapters in a book, with each chapter having different events. For example, if you were to study European history, you could look at each century as a different epoch, or chapter, and each of these chapters would have its own interesting stories and people. It's like looking at a big book which has lots of different chapters with different stories.
