ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Equality of sacrifice

Okay kiddo, let me explain you the equality of sacrifice in a very simple way.

When people work together for a common goal, they need to contribute equally to achieve it. And when they face some challenges or hardships in the process of achieving that goal, they need to bear the burden of those challenges equally as well. This is called equality of sacrifice. In other words, everyone has to give the same amount of effort, time, resources or whatever they can to make sure that everyone shares the same level of hardship in the journey towards the goal.

Let's take an example. Imagine that you and your friends want to build a treehouse in your backyard. You all have agreed to work together to build it. Now, to make this happen, you need to contribute equally, like one of your friends might help in gathering the required materials, while another might help in cutting the wood. And when it comes to the tougher parts, like climbing up the tree to fix the treehouse, you all need to share the burden equally as well. This means that everyone should climb up the tree and do their part, so that no one person has to do all the hard work.

Similarly, in real life, when people work together to achieve a common goal, everyone needs to contribute whatever they can, and when the going gets tough, everyone should be willing to pull their weight equally. This helps to ensure that everyone gets a fair share of the benefits, and no one person has to bear all of the burden or hardship. Does that make sense, kiddo?
