Erfurt Enchiridion

The Erfurt Enchiridion is a book that people used a long time ago to sing songs at church. It was written in German, which is a language that people in Germany speak. The book had a lot of songs in it that people could sing together to praise God. It was written a really long time ago, in the 1500s, by a man named Martin Luther. He was a monk who wanted people to be able to sing songs in church that they could understand, instead of singing in a language that they didn't understand. So he wrote this book to help people sing together in a language that they could understand. Today, people don't use the Erfurt Enchiridion as much anymore, but it was an important book in history because it helped change the way people sang in church.
