Ergot (horse anatomy)

Ergot is like a little bump that can be found on a horse's foot. It's a part of their anatomy and it's made out of really hard tissue. Picture it like a little button on the bottom of their foot.

Sometimes, the ergot can get really big and bothersome - almost like a big callus on a human foot. But it's important that the ergot doesn't get too big or start to cause the horse pain.
