Eris (mythology)

Hi there! So, Eris is a person from ancient Greek mythology. She is a goddess of trouble and chaos. She is actually known for causing the famous Trojan War by starting an argument between three goddesses about who was the most beautiful. Eris threw a golden apple into the party where they were arguing that had "for the fairest" written on it. Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena all wanted the apple, but couldn't agree on who should get it. So they asked Paris, a prince of Troy, to decide. Paris chose Aphrodite because she promised him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Sparta. This led to Helen's kidnapping and the beginnings of the Trojan War.

In general, Eris is kind of like that troublemaker friend you might have who starts arguments and causes drama. But in ancient mythology, she was seen as more of a powerful force who could bring about war and chaos.
