Erlangen Classification System

Hey there! Do you know how we have different ways of organizing things like toys or books into groups? Well, the Erlangen classification system is kind of like that, but for geometric shapes.

So imagine you have a bunch of different shapes like squares, circles, and triangles. The Erlangen classification system helps us group these shapes based on certain properties they have.

One important property is how they look when we move them around. For example, a circle looks the same no matter how we rotate it. But a square looks different if we turn it on its side compared to if we leave it standing up.

Another property is how they look when we change their size. For example, a circle still looks like a circle even if we make it bigger or smaller. But a square might start to look like a rectangle if we change its size.

By taking all of these properties into account, we can put shapes into different groups. And that can help us understand more about them and how they relate to each other.

So that's the Erlangen classification system! It helps us organize geometric shapes by their properties and figure out which ones are similar and different.
