Estate houses in Scotland

When a person in Scotland owns a big piece of land with lots of buildings on it, it's called an estate. The biggest and fanciest building on the estate is often called the estate house. It's like a really big, fancy house with lots of rooms and lots of land all around it.

The estate house is usually really old and has lots of history behind it. Sometimes it was built a long, long time ago by rich people who wanted a really nice place to live. Other times, it might have been a gift from someone important, like a king or queen.

These days, estate houses in Scotland are often owned by wealthy families or used as holiday homes for people who want to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet in the countryside.

Even though estate houses in Scotland are really big and fancy, they can also be tricky to take care of because they are so old. That's why some estate houses are turned into hotels or museums, so people can visit and enjoy them without having to worry about all the upkeep.
