Estimation statistics is a type of math that is used to make an estimate, or a guess, about something. It is used to make a good guess about facts that we do not have all of the information about. For example, if we wanted to guess how many people live in a town, but the exact number is unknown, we could use estimation statistics to figure out the best guess. To do this, we would look at information that we do have like the size of the town, and how many people usually live in towns of that size. Then, we would combine this information with our own knowledge to come up with a good estimate.
