Eternal September

Eternal September refers to a time on the internet when lots of new people started using it and they didn't know how to behave nicely. It's like when you start playing a new game with lots of people and some of them don't know the rules or are being mean. This happened in September of 1993 when lots of students started using the internet and didn't know how to act.

Before September of 1993, most people using the internet were scientists, professors, and other educated people who knew how to behave on the internet. But when lots of students started using it, they didn't know the etiquette of the internet and started doing things that were annoying or rude. They would post too much or post things that were not nice, and it started to make the internet less fun for the people who were already using it.

The term "Eternal September" means that this time period of new people coming to the internet and not knowing how to behave nicely continued forever. Even now, there are always new people coming onto the internet who don't know the right way to act. That's why it's important to always be polite and respectful on the internet, just like you would in real life with your friends and family.
