ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Euler number (physics)

Okay kiddo, I'll explain euler number (also known as "e") in a way that's easy to understand. Imagine you have a really cool machine that can calculate things super fast. It's so fast that it can calculate something millions of times in just a second. Now, let's say you asked this machine to calculate something very important. You asked it to calculate how much money you'd have if you put $1 in the bank and got 100% interest every year for 1 year.

The machine would calculate this for you, but it would be a really long number. It would start with the number 2.7 and then have a bunch of other digits after it. This number is what we call euler number or "e". It's a special number that shows up a lot in math and physics.

In physics, we use euler number to help us understand things like waves, electricity, and how particles move around. It's a way to describe how fast things change over time. Just like the machine calculated how your money grew over time, euler number helps us calculate how things change over time in physics.

So, while euler number is just a really long number, it's actually pretty cool because it helps us understand how things move and change in the world around us.
