European Canadians are people who originally came from European countries like France, England, Spain, Italy, and others, but now live in Canada. They are called "Canadian" because they are now citizens or permanent residents of Canada. Many European Canadians came to Canada a long time ago, while others arrived more recently. They speak different languages, have different customs and traditions, and may belong to different religions. Together with Indigenous peoples and other groups, European Canadians make up Canada's multicultural society.
