European Nuclear Disarmament

Okay kiddo, so you know how there are some really powerful bombs and weapons that countries can use to hurt each other? Well, a long time ago, some countries in Europe decided that they didn't want to have those types of weapons anymore. They wanted to get rid of them and make sure no one could use them again.

To do this, they got together and signed a treaty called the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. That means they promised not to make any more nuclear weapons, and to try to get rid of the ones they already had.

It wasn't easy, because some countries were worried that they might be vulnerable if they didn't have the same type of weapons as other countries. But eventually, more and more countries decided to join in and work towards getting rid of nuclear weapons.

Now there are a bunch of organizations and groups that are trying to make sure that countries stick to their promise and don't make any more of these dangerous weapons. It's still a work in progress, but it's really cool to see countries coming together to try to make the world a safer place for everyone.
