The European Union Military Committee is a group of high-ranking military officers from each of the European Union's member countries. They come together regularly to discuss how the European Union can help to keep peace and protect people from harm. The military committee meets at least two times a year and its tasks include looking at ways to work together to fight terrorism, enhance security, improve crisis management and provide military advice to the European Union. By working together, the military officers in this group help all of the European Union countries stay safe.
