Evolutionary art

Evolutionary art is when computers create pictures or other art based on patterns that mimic the process of natural evolution. Natural evolution is how animals and plants change over time to become better suited to their environment. Computers create these pictures by changing them over and over again to make something that looks more visually pleasing. Computers use algorithms that give each picture a score and then make changes to it to try and make it look better. The algorithm “selects” the picture with the highest score and uses it as the starting point for the next picture. This process is repeated until the picture looks the way the artist wants it to look.
