ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exodus 33

Okay kiddo, in Exodus 33, God is talking to Moses, who is a very important man in the Bible. God tells Moses that he won't be coming with him on his journey anymore, but that his helper, an angel, will go with him instead.

Moses really cares about God and doesn't want him to leave, so he asks him to stay. And God says that he will stay close by Moses and always watch over him.

Then, Moses asks God if he can see him. God says that no one can see his face and live, which means if someone saw God's face they would die. But God does let Moses see his back as he passes by.

This passage teaches us that it's important to have faith in God, even when we can't see him. And it also reminds us that God is always with us, even if we can't see him, he is watching over us and protecting us.
