Expediting

Expediting is when you try to make something happen faster. For example, if you order food online and it usually takes 20 minutes to arrive but you want it sooner, you could ask the restaurant to "expedite" it. This means they will try to make it come faster, maybe by having the delivery driver go faster than usual or asking the cook to prepare it faster.
