ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exponentiation

Exponentiation is like multiplication, but instead of adding a number to itself, you make it bigger by multiplying it by itself multiply times. For example, if you have the number 4 and you put an exponent (like a little number up in the corner) of 3, that means you need to multiply the 4 by itself 3 times. So you get 4x4x4 which equals 64!
