ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exposure fusion

Exposure fusion is like piling up pieces of clothes to make one big and better-looking outfit. When you take a picture, sometimes the lighting is not good and some parts of the picture are too bright or too dark. Just like when you pick clothes to wear, you want all of them to fit together perfectly.

In photography, there are different settings that control how much light goes into the camera when you take a picture. If you take three different pictures of the same thing with different settings, you end up with three slightly different pictures. Then, exposure fusion helps you combine those different pictures into one that looks better.

It's like when you take the best parts of your clothes and make one amazing outfit. Exposure fusion takes the best parts of each picture and puts them together into one amazing picture. The final picture looks like it was taken with perfect lighting, because the bright and dark parts are blended together in a way that creates a beautiful balance.
