ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Extended producer responsibility

Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a way of making companies responsible for the waste their products cause. It works like this: companies who make products (producers) are responsible for taking care of those products once the customer is done using them. This might mean collecting them, recycling them, and safely disposing of them. This means that producers have to think carefully about what materials they use and how they make their products, so they don't create too much waste. That way, we can all help protect the environment!
