Extractive metallurgy

Extractive metallurgy is like making a cake. You need to take different ingredients, mix them together, and put them in the oven to get a delicious dessert.

In extractive metallurgy, instead of using ingredients for a cake, we use different metals and minerals. We start with a raw material, like a rock or an ore, which contains the metal we want.

To get the metal, we use different processes to separate it from other materials in the ore. This is like separating the eggs from the yolks when making a cake.

Once we have the metal, we can use it to make things like cars or cell phones. This is like using the cake we made as an ingredient for a dessert.

Extractive metallurgy is important because it allows us to get the metals we need for everyday life. But, it’s also important to do it in a way that’s safe for people and the environment. That’s why we need to be careful and follow rules when we extract metals from ores.
