Extreme points of New England

Okay kiddo, do you know what a map is? It's like a picture that shows us what different places look like and where they are. New England is a region on the East Coast of the United States, made up of 6 states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Now, let's talk about extreme points. These are the places that are the furthest, highest, or lowest in a certain area. In New England, there are four extreme points that we can talk about:

1. The northernmost point is in Maine, specifically a place called Estcourt Station. This is the furthest point north that you can go in all of New England!

2. The easternmost point is in Maine too, in a place called West Quoddy Head. This spot is the furthest east you can go in all of the continental United States (which means the part of the country that's connected to other states, not Hawaii or Alaska).

3. The southernmost point is in Connecticut, specifically a place called Greenwich. This is the furthest point south you can go in all of New England.

4. The westernmost point is in Vermont, specifically a place called Vermont Pass. This spot is the furthest west you can go in all of New England.

So there you have it, those are the extreme points of New England! It's kind of like a scavenger hunt to try and visit all of them.
