Eye rhyme

Eye rhyme is when two words look like they should rhyme because they have the same spelling at the end, but actually they don't sound the same when you say them. It's like two friends wearing the same clothes, but one has a different accent when they speak. For example, the words "great" and "meat" look like they should rhyme because they both end with "-eat," but when you say them out loud, their sounds are different. Eye rhyme can be a sneaky way for poets and songwriters to make their lines sound cool or interesting without actually rhyming them.
